STUDENT INTERNSHIPS |

INTRODUCTION
In terms of existing qualification requirements at certain educational institutions students in specific study disciplines have to complete limited practical work in order to obtain an academic qualification. |
|
On the other hand, many of the students are unable to secure employment because of lack of the necessary experience required by the highly competitive job market. KESC limited offers conducive learning environment to students of 3rd & 4th year students for a limited six week engagement, during summer and winter internships.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION
- Currently enrolled students of a HEC-recognized educational institution with a requirement of completion of internship training as a prerequisite to award of a professional degree.
- This includes students of final year interested in earning limited professional experience before gaining a qualification.
- Acceptable disciplines at this time are: Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics engineering for Generation and Distribution Business Units. Marketing and HR for Business Operations, Human Resources business units and IT students in Software, Hardware, Telecom and Network domains.

POLICY STATEMENT
- KESC Ltd. will provide paid internship training opportunities primarily for students in relevant study disciplines as requested by its various business units.
- The program coincides with annual vacations of students during winter (December-February) and summer (June-August) periods.
- The criteria for offering student internships is based on the availability of resources and infrastructure for imparting valuable technical know how and experience during the limited engagement period.
- Ideally Generation and Distribution are our two most desirable Business Units with ample resources for handling student interns in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics engineering technologies. Other business units also cater to requests for internships but with limited opportunities.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
It is required that all nominations must be forwarded to HR-Division, KESC Ltd. from the Head of the Institution or relevant authority hence independent queries are not entertained. It is requested that all communication be made 6-8 weeks ahead of vacation period to allow short listing thru test and interviews at designated dates, time and location/s.
