Thirty percent of electric power is lost during transmission due to poor quality infrastructure; our R&D engineers are looking for ways to make this more efficient. We have currently budgeted one million rupees to purchase new equipment that meets International Electro technical Commission (IEC) standards, and to expand the library.
We are also aiming to upgrade KESC's transmission and distribution systems to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority and IEC standards, and to remove obsolete equipment. We are refining the process through which we test and evaluate all new equipment.
We believe we are good as the people that work for us and regularly hold seminars and sessions, some in association with universities and other foreign utility companies, to train and to update the skills of our technicians and engineers.
