AZM STAR PROGRAMME

Harness the latent energy and passion of employees around the KESC vision

The Azm Star Programme is a platform to put in place the required structure and process to institutionalise the pursuit of the vision. Specialised gold and silver stars will be presented to outstanding employees to symbolise the highest level of achievement with an award system that will create ambition, appreciation and proof of the achievement. A total associated bonus pool of Rs. 750,000 per annum will be allotted to the programme.

The following are the characteristics needed to acquire a gold or silver star.

Basic Qualifications: Silver Star

  • Meeting all the strategically defined performance indicators
  • No record of corruption
  • Believing and taking pride in the work and the company
  • Strong will to learn and improve
  • Epitomises our Azm and the drive to emanate it
  • Consistently strong, loyal and outstanding performance

Judgment process: A first level recommendation will be issued from the immediate supervisor to the departmental head. If approved the departmental head will suggest the issue to the OMG head and a final decision will be based on an analysis interview by the departmental head and the OMG head, who will recommend the candidate to the CEO on a monthly basis.

Award: Total of 100 per annum.
One-off compensation of Rs. 5,000 for each winner below DGM level.

Basic Qualification: Gold Star (Meeting all pre-requisites for a Silver Star topped with):

  • Consistent show of integrity, resilience, a unique act of bravery or firm resolve in the line of duty, averts threats, protects KESC from unique business risks or an operational challenge.
  • Continuous performance that epitomises the drive to transform KESC to be the best or takes KESC to another level of innovation, excellence, value creation or shareholder value.
  • Exemplary and transformative personal leadership.
  • A person who is the embodiment of the company's Azm at the highest level.
  • Makes a significant change to improve the company's overall status.
  • Extraordinary longevity allied to current and continuing loyalty
  • Has a measurable positive impact on co-worker behaviour and external perception

Judgment process: Immediate supervisor-departmental head. Head to make recommendation to the Executive Director, who submits nomination to a panel of three senior leaders comprising of the CEO, Group Head OM, CCO, and COO Distribution
The decision will be taken by the panel based on documentation review and meeting with department head if required

Award: Total of 25 awards per annum
One-off reward of Rs. 10,000 to those below DGM level.
