KESC DISPLAYS 400 KG CAPTURED WIRE: 20,000 KUNDAS REMOVED

 

KARACHI, July 26: The Karachi Electric Supply Company on Monday put on display 400 kilogram captured wire as over 20,000 kunda connections were removed from various areas of the City during its anti theft campaign, says a Press Release issued here.

 

Mr. Abdul Khalique Sheikh, General Manager Region IV, while briefing the media on the occasion said that the illegal hooks had been removed from various areas of North Karachi, Surjani Town, Nazimabad, F. B. Area, Liaquatabad, North Nazimabad and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, during the past about one month.

 

During the operation, about 5600 meter telephone wire used for illegal hooks, 2300 meter PVC pipes and four motors had been recovered. He also stated that with the removal of these illegal hooks, a continuing loss of 5,700 kilowatt electricity load had been saved whose per month cost was about Rs. 4.5 million.

 

Mr. Sheikh further said that kunda-removing drive will continue in the various different areas of Karachi.
