Karachi, September 12: Karachi Electric Supply Company, in its statement expressed its deepest sorrow on the loss of over 200 lives in the regretful incident of the raging fire at a garment factory in the Baldia, Hub River Road area of Karachi. The statement said, that KESC offers its condolances and deepest sympathies with the families of the victims, most of whom were the bread earners of their families, making it even more heart rendering.
Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, KESC has announced, that it will 'Waive' All the Existing and Outstanding Electricity Bills of the Affected Families. In addition to the above, the berieved families will also be extended an 'Electricity Bill Payment Exemption' for the next 6 months. The power utility said, that this is being done under its CSR program to express its solidarity with the aggrieved families and to provide whatever solace it could. KESC said, that, it being a critical link of the city and playing an important role in the lives of its dwellers, considered it as its social responsibility to offer its support and stand with its consumers in their trying times.
KESC stated that it will be coordinating with the civic & humanitarian agencies working on the ground zero of this unfortunate catastrophe to get the details of the affected families who lost their family members in this cataclysmic fire.
