AHMED, DR. NAVEED - CHIEF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Dr. Naveed joined KESC in 2009.  He brings over 15 years of experience in the energy sector at international level.

He was a senior member of the team responsible for the restructuring and reorganisation of Enron Corp. (US $70 billion dollar company) after Enron's bankruptcy filing.

Prior to Enron's bankruptcy, Naveed was involved in business development efforts in the power sector in North America and continued to work for Enron for 7 years. Earlier to this, he worked at the Centre of Applied Energy Research as a Research Analyst for 3 years where he studied new technologies for power generation.

Naveed was also a key member of the team that developed Hub Power Project (1200 MW) in Pakistan in 1990s. Naveed obtained his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Colorado School of Mines and an MBA in finance from Cornell University.

At KESC, he is responsible for implementing strategies that will improve KESC's business performance and increase its capacity to generate power.

His group is responsible for contract execution and management with important entities such as National Transmission & Dispatch Company, Sui Southern Gas Company, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), etc. The group is also very actively involved in developing green field power projects and seeking partnerships with other IPPs. He is also currently managing part of the distribution group and the CEO office.
