Tayyab Tareen joined KESC in 2009 and is currently serving in the capacity of Chief Strategy Officer and also an Executive Director on the board of KESC. He is providing focus to critical business turnaround initiatives in different functions of the business, converting them from concept to reality on a fast track basis. Additionally, Tayyab also directly leads the engagement with various Ministries and departments of Government of Pakistan and Information Technology function.
Prior to this, he was Group Chief Financial Officer at KESC responsible for financial activities within the organization including financial planning, budgeting, insurance, payroll, taxation and treasury activities as well as financial reporting.
Tayyab holds over 18 years experience mainly with multinationals covering areas of general management, business turnarounds, financial management, planning and business acquisitions. He is also the Principal at Abraaj, joined the company in 2006. Prior to joining Abraaj, was the Chief Financial Officer CFO of the Coca-cola Company managed bottler in UAE and Oman, a business that was successfully turned around from losses to sustained profitability within two years. From 1997 to 2001, he was with Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan as CFO and Company Secretary. He started his career in 1995, with Packages Limited in Pakistan as Manager Project.
Mr. Tareen is a qualified Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
